Rocher signs Google Cloud deal for e-commerce

Groupe Rocher, the parent company of cosmetics, home improvement and textile brands such as Arbonne, Yves Rocher and Petit Bateau, has signed a five-year deal with Google Cloud to support its e-commerce and social selling initiatives.

Google Cloud will also provide the group with a “resilient and sustainable infrastructure”, said Groupe Rocher.

The company will undertake an extensive IT implementation, covering API integration and management and moving SAP workloads and data analytics into the cloud.

Groupe Rocher said it will leverage Google's infrastructure to cut its carbon footprint by deciding which Google Cloud region to use based on its carbon-free energy percentage.

“We consider Google Cloud as a real partner on our road to sustainable innovation and growth,” said Stanislas Duthier, Groupe Rocher CIO. “We will be working together to make sure our brands accelerate steadily towards their own sustainability objectives.”

Other Groupe Rocher brands include Stanhome, Dr Pierre Ricaud, Kiotis, Flormar, SABON and ID Parfums. The €2.6 billion-turnover company claims it has 50m customers in 115 countries.

Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
