The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has approved the merger between Evri, one of the UK's largest parcel delivery companies, and DHL eCommerce UK, the DHL Group's e-commerce logistics division.
The approval marks a key step towards the conclusion of the transaction, which is expected to complete promptly once all regulatory approvals have been received.
The combined Evri group will establish a new UK parcel and mail delivery company, offering solutions for domestic and international parcel logistics, the two firms said in a statement on Thursday.
The merged entity will bring together a team of more than 30,000 couriers and van drivers, alongside 12,000 colleagues and a fleet of 8,000 vehicles, all dedicated to delivering more than 1 billion parcels and 1 billion letters per year, the firms said.
In 2026, DHL eCommerce UK will rebrand as Evri Premium, operating as part of the DHL network, and will remain a separate network offering speedy deliveries with enhanced security protection for high-value and large items.
The new Evri Group will comprise Evri's core offering—a flexible courier network for low-value, low-weight parcels—along with a dedicated and secure premium van network for high-value items and B2B parcel services.
It will leverage DHL eCommerce's expertise in cross-border parcel shipping and its extensive network of more than 150,000 global access points.
Martijn De Lange, chief executive officer at Evri, said the move represents "a pivotal moment and the biggest milestone in our 50-year history" that will create "a premier parcel delivery business of significant scale."
"This deal will accelerate our growth strategy and cement our position as a disruptor within the parcel delivery sector," De Lange added.
Pablo Ciano, chief executive of DHL eCommerce at DHL Group, said: "Together, we want to reshape the landscape of logistics, offering our customers a seamless and secure experience whilst meeting their evolving needs in a fast-paced world."
