Burberry appoints senior independent director

Burbery has appointed Orna NíChionna as a senior independent director.

NíChionna is set to start on role on April 2.

The executive has served as an independent non-executive director at Burberry since 3 January 2018 and is chair of the remuneration committee and a member of the nomination committee.

NíChionna has previously held independent director roles at Saga, Royal Mail, HMV, and Bupa, and spent 18 years at McKinsey, where she was a partner.

In addition, Dame Carolyn McCall is set to retire as a non-executive director on April 2.

The news comes after Burberry appointed Gianluca Flore as its new chief commercial officer in August 2021.
