Luxury watch retailer Watches of Switzerland Group has migrated onto a new multi-cloud platform as it seeks to modernise its IT infrastructure.
The technology from SAP aims to unify application development, integration, data management, analytics, automation and AI and machine learning.
The move is part of a partnership with Bluestonex, a British company specialising in software and consulting for digital transformation using SAP technologies.
As a result, Bluestonex now manages the cloud environment for Watches of Switzerland, taking on responsibility for credit management, resource allocation and infrastructure support.
Since switching to this model, Watches of Switzerland Group said that it has freed itself from credit management and technical configurations, allowing its customer team to focus on more business-critical projects with the aim of increasing performance and improving the user experience.
Watches of Switzerland Group added that the integration comes at a time when the company continues to expand and adapt to new market dynamics, transforming its technological infrastructure to prioritise scalability, efficiency and simplification of operations worldwide.
Glenn Bamford, head of business systems at the luxury retailer said that the move has enabled the company to “make strategic moves towards modernising our systems while remaining agile for the future.”
The firm added that future areas of development will include progressing in artificial intelligence (AI).
“Watches of Switzerland Group’s team is keen to understand how to unlock the use of AI in its organisation,” Bamford concluded.
