Amazon-owned supermarket chain Whole Foods is expanding its presence in the UK with six new London-based stores.
The new stores will all have opened their doors to customers by June and will bring Whole Foods’ total number of UK stores to 12.
The announcement comes a year after the Whole Foods King’s Road, London store opened, marking the US brand’s first UK store opening for over a decade.
Whole Foods is best known for offering a large variety of organic foods and the steps it takes to ensure products are high quality, like banning more than 240 ingredients.
The first of Whole Foods’ stores to open in 2026 will be located at Angel, The Mall, 359 Upper Street, The Angel, London, with a scheduled opening date of April 2nd. The second will be located at Liverpool Street, Unit 4b-5, Blomfield Street, London and has an opening date of April 23rd.
The third will be at 66-74 Notting Hill Gate, London, and has a planned opening date of May 14th. The fourth - set to be based at Wood Wharf, 4 Water Street, Wood Wharf, London - will also open later in the same month, on the 28th.
The final two openings will also be based in London and will open in June. This includes a store at Monument, Unit 1, 20 Gracechurch Street, London, opening on June 4th. The final store will be situated at St. James, 57 Victoria Street, London, opening on June 11th.
Each store will stock both organic and traditional produce; prepared items like salads and sandwiches; meat and seafood; a bakery department; a wellness and beauty department; a cheesemaker and artisan section; as well as a range of exclusive products.
Whole Foods said it would be celebrating its upcoming UK store openings by donating to charities such as FoodCycle, All Saints Food Bank, Independent Food Aid Network and Family Action Food Clubs.
Jason Buechel, CEO of Whole Foods Market, said: "We're happy to be expanding Whole Foods Market's physical store presence in the UK, allowing us to reach more customers with our uncompromising quality standards and carefully curated selection of natural and organic products.
"Each new store represents an opportunity to bring responsibly sourced, high-quality food to more communities who share our values of nourishing people and the planet."
