Pattern closes $52m funding to expand e-commerce platform

Pattern has closed its first round of outside funding, a $52 million Series A round co-led by Ainge Advisory and KSV Global.

Since being founded in 2013, the company has become one of the largest e-commerce analytics platforms globally, with this investment backing the continued development of tools that will allow partners to make better decisions based on real-time data.

Brands such as Nestle, Panasonic, Zebra and Skechers use Pattern's platform. A statement claimed that on average, these brands see a 40 per cent increase in online sales during their first year of partnering and attain 93 per cent brand compliance within the first nine months.

Kyle Bliffert, president of Atrium Innovations, a Nestle Health Science company, commented: "Pattern represents our brands in the US, across Europe, and in select markets in Asia, selling for us on global marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, Tmall, and JD as well as building and managing three of our direct-to-consumer sites - the global e-commerce growth we have experienced by leveraging Pattern's expertise is extraordinary."

Pattern's technology stack, including Predict and Shelf, provide a data-driven view into their e-commerce operations and performance across key metrics including search engine optimisation, advertising, ratings and reviews, compliance, pricing competitiveness and distribution.

With more than 400 employees across 18 global locations, Pattern uses its proprietary technology to help brands attain e-commerce growth on both their own websites as well as on global marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Google, Tmall, JD and MercadoLibre.

Pattern provides full-service global distribution and logistics for marketplaces and direct-to-consumer fulfilment.
