LK Bennett to launch rental service

On Tuesday womenswear brand LK Bennett is launching a new monthly rental subscription service.

According to a report from Drapers, consumers will be able to rent two items at once for £79 per month.

Users of the new rental service will be able to make a wishlist of products in order of preference and they will receive the top two available items in their size.

The magazine also revealed that shoppers will be able to pay an additional £9 to confirm a specific item for the next delivery or particular dates. Garments can be kept for up to a month.

Customers renting items can either pick two items for the whole month or swap up to eight garments during the period.

"We believe this new rental offering will attract a new customer base to LK Bennett, as it will satisfy those seeking a more sustainable way of shopping,” LK Bennett’s chief executive Darren Topp told Drapers. “We don't see this replacing core e-commerce, but rather complementing it and adding choice.”

Topp added: “Rental will allow customers who can't afford or don't want to spend the amount required to own an LK Bennett item to wear an outfit for a special occasion. If they're already an LK Bennett fan, this service enables them to rotate their wardrobe regularly and get fresh items for their everyday wardrobe.”
