Dunelm introduces virtual shopping service

Dunelm has launched a new virtual shopping service, featuring expert interiors advice and product selection guidance tailored to individual home needs.

Customers can book an appointment online, where they will be prompted to share information around their style inspiration or products they are seeking. This is then followed by a personal video call appointment with a 'shopping companion'. During this appointment, the companion will guide the customer around the store, showcasing Dunelm’s latest products, designs and trends.

After the appointment, customers are sent a complete shopping list of all items discussed to purchase either for home delivery or Click and Collect to their nearest store.

Ahead of rolling out across all Dunelm stores, the service is currently being trialled at its Reddington and Erdington stores.

Brand marketing director Jemma Williams commented: “We are striving to make the shopping experience within the new circumstances as enjoyable as possible, but most importantly as safe as possible for all of our customers.”

In addition to virtual shopping, the Dunelm Made to Measure service now includes online appointments. Customers are able to request a consultation, access measuring tips to achieve the perfect fit and browse fabrics, all online.

Additional contact-free ways to shop have also been introduced, which include Click and Collect deliveries straight to a customer's car, all while a two metre distance is maintained.
