Coop Norge has rolled out a new cloud-based order management system (OMS) as the retailer looks to strengthen its omnichannel strategy.
Coop Norge is a Norwegian cooperative organisation that operates a network of retail shops in Norway, totalling 1,250 across the country.
The company is owned by 117 local co-operatives and has approximately two million members. The organisation operates different types of shops, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, discounters and rural shops, with brands such as Coop Mega, Obs and Extra.
It also focuses on offering benefits to its members, such as discounts and dividends based on purchases, and has a significant e-commerce presence.
The retailer chose Omnium as its OMS provider.
Coop Norge said that the new technology rollout comes as the company focuses on reinforcing the shopping experience for its customers, adding that it needed an OMS that matches its complexity, size and ambitions.
Rune Gustafsson, product manager at Coop Norge, said that the move would be key in optimising and streamlining its order management, strengthening the company’s market position, and enhancing the shopping experience for its customers an members.
