Boots has announced the expansion of on-demand delivery to 500 UK stores.
Customers will now be able to choose from 10,000 products to be delivered to their homes in as little as 30 minutes through its partnerships with Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat.
In select locations across the country, consumers will be able to order up until midnight on Christmas Eve.
Boots currently has 1,800 health and beauty stores across the UK.
“We all know Christmas is a busy time, so we want to make it even easier for our customers who find themselves shopping right up to the last moment. Boots on-demand can help change that final dash into an easy delivery," said Paula Bobbett, chief data and digital officer at Boots. "At Boots, we’re here to make shopping feel joyful, not stressful, helping shoppers find thoughtful gifts quickly and easily, even if they’ve missed online order cut-offs or store opening hours.”
Last month, rival health and beauty chain Superdrug partnered with Just Eat to allow shoppers to order and receive around 8,000 beauty, baby care and medical products in as little as 30 minutes.
The move came after the company was the most searched for High Street retailer on the platform.
Around 29 Superdrug stores including those in Marble Arch, Glasgow and Bristol, will take part in the scheme, which will start in selected postcodes and be rolled out nationwide by March next year.
The service will allow customers to order directly through the Just Eat app or website, select their local Superdrug store, and choose from products spanning 43 categories including Superdrug’s own brands.
Walgreens Boots Alliance, owner of boots, was sold to Sycamore Partners in August.
Following the buyout, Walgreens, The Boots Group, Shields Health Solutions, CareCentrix and VillageMD are operating as separate standalone companies.
