Boden rolls out AI platform to boost inventory and pricing

Boden has rolled out a new AI platform to improve its product inventory and pricing.

The clothing retailer said that the platform from tech firm Peak analysed its historic pricing structure and customer spending habits to see what the company needed to do to increase its sales.

The technology has been implemented alongside planned sales when Boden said it reduces prices to clear seasonal lines, with these sales clearing around ten per cent of its stock.

The retailer said that pricing recommendations provided by the platform have resulted in margin gains, with the move directly impacting profitability.

The company added that it intends to implement the AI platform more widely as part of its integrated tech stack to improve its merchandising decisions.

Alexander Ives, senior director of technology at Boden, said that the company has undergone “significant” modernisation over the past five years, with the new technology the latest move in this process.

“Having modernised our core platforms we are now looking for opportunities where we can invest in providers that are quick to implement, low-risk, and deliver high impact,” he added. “Peak has proven to do exactly that, with its AI-powered insights helping us during critical sales moments.

“It’s an excellent tool in our arsenal and one we’re already starting to use for future sales moments.”
