Asos has promoted current director of group finance Aaron Izzard as its new chief financial officer, effective July 1.
The move comes as the British fashion retailer announced its current finance head Dave Murray will be stepping down on June 30 to pursue other opportunities.
Izzard joined Asos as head of retail finance in 2017. Since then, he has held various finance roles within the company, including commercial finance director and financial accounting director at control.
He was eventually promoted to director of group finance in July 2024, where he was tasked with leading a team of more than 100 people across tax, treasury, financial reporting, payments and financial accounting.
He particularly focused on debt restructuring and the sale of Topshop's assets, board engagement on planning, debt and financing, financial reporting and strategic KPI delivery.
In a statemet, chief executive José Antonio Ramos Calamonte highlighted Izzard’s “strong track record of operational efficiency and strategic thinking” as vital to ASOS’ next chapter of sustainable, profitable growth and enhanced customer experience.
Asos added that Murray, who joined ASOS as chief financial officer in April 2024, will remain with the company for a handover period.
During the past years, ASOS has reported financial difficulties, which have seen it working on a recovery strategy involving staff cuts, inventory reductions and debt refinancing.
The retailer has recently reported signs of improvement, recording an adjusted Ebitda of £42.5 million in the first half of 2025, compared to a loss of £16.3 million in the previous year.
In May, the company became the first British retailer to launch a next-day delivery service across the UK via InPost lockers.
Shoppers at Asos, which currently has 18 million active customers in more than 200 markets, will be able to select InPost Lockers at checkout as their primary out-of-home option.
Asos customers will be able to collect their parcels the next day from InPost's network of lockers and parcel shops for the first time.
