Southern Co-op to launch new membership app

Southern Co-op has announced plans to launch a new membership app which will include games, challenges, and new promotions capabilities.

The regional independent cooperative has partnered with software firm Lobyco on the new app.

Southern Co-op operates a network over 300 food, funeral, and Starbucks coffee brands across the south of England.

The retailer said that the new platform will offer customers a more personalised and interactive way to shop, earn rewards, and access exclusive offers.

It added that the move will take its digital engagement with customers to "the next level" as part of plans to reimagine its loyalty strategy.

"By launching a new, interactive loyalty app, we’re creating more ways for our members to engage, be rewarded and feel valued," said Lindsay Elliott, head of IT and business transformation, Southern Co-op. "With features like games, challenges and personalised offers, our Southern Co-op app will bring added fun and convenience to our member shopping experiences, while reinforcing our commitment to delivering meaningful value to our communities."

Poundland significantly reduces antisocial behaviour, aggression and shoplifting with Motorola Solutions VT100 body cameras
Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
