PollenPay enters UK BNPL market

New UK firm PollenPay has entered the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) market.

The Radcliffe, Greater Manchester company is led by chief executive and founder Leon Wilson.

PollenPay said it expects to launch before the end of 2021 and claimed to have signed up several notable retailers.

Manchester was recently ranked as the second best city outside London for UK tech by the Digital Economy Council.

“Our platform is helping to give individuals and businesses greater control over their finances and facilitating BNPL purchases more efficiently than ever before,” said Wilson. “As a company, we’re committed to extolling the values of Manchester as a city and will offer a service tailored exactly to our customers’ needs.”

He added: “We’ve adopted the Manchester worker bee within our logo for a reason. We want to help put the city on the map within the BNPL scene, both in Britain and further afield.

“It’s an exciting moment to enter this developing space and to join the growing ranks of Manchester’s emerging fintech scene.”

Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
