H&M appoints new chief technology officer

The H&M Group has appointed Alan Boehme as its new chief technology officer.
He takes over from Joel Ankarberg, who is moving to become head of group strategy and transformation.

Along with chief product officer Daniel Claesson, Boehme will head up the new Business Tech team, which aims to strengthen the retail group's ability to innovate improved shopping experiences for customers.

In a LinkedIn post, Boehme stated: “I am very excited about joining an organisation with a fantastic history, an innovative industry leading mindset, strong commitments to our customers, employees and the world through our corporate values and ongoing commitment to sustainability.”

He previously worked at Procter & Gamble as senior vice president and chief technology innovation officer. Prior to that, Boehme was the chief information and innovation officer at Coca-Cola.

H&M Group chief executive Helena Helmersson stated: “Alan's long experience from previous technology driven transformations at global consumer-oriented companies will contribute to the entire group as we continue to digitalise and transform our business.

"We look forward to a strong addition to H&M Group and our new function Business Tech,” she added.
