Dyson opens immersive store in Manchester

Dyson has unveiled a new Demo store in Manchester’s Trafford Centre.

The new immersive store is the engineering and technology company's second in the UK, along with a store on London’s Oxford Street, and is part of the company’s global drive to grow its direct-to-consumer retail ambitions.

Dyson’s new 130 metre-squared space features a range of ‘demonstration zones’, with Dyson experts on hand to educate customers on a range of its different products.

The store can facilitate indoor air quality demonstrations for Dyson’s air humidifiers while Dyson’s vacuum cleaners can be used to vacuum up a variety of debris to demonstrate their functionality.

The Trafford Centre store also features three styling stations where customers can experience a wash and style with Dyson hair care technologies.

Kristofer Johnson, Dyson demo store manager, Manchester, commented: “Dyson operates more than 300 Dyson stores worldwide and this Dyson Demo in Manchester will add to our ambitious growth plans for the future.

“Together with our Dyson online store, the store in The Trafford Centre, Manchester forms a part of Dyson’s growing ambitions in direct-to-consumer retail, providing consumers with opportunities to discover Dyson technology in the North of England.”

Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
