Co-op has partnered with Walmart to utilise its Store Assist online fulfilment technology.
The retailer said the technology would improve the shopping experience for customers and employees as well as supporting its quick commerce growth ambitions.
The technology streamlines online order fulfilment workflows and allows retailers to manage pickup, third-party marketplace, ship-from-store, and last-mile delivery orders all in one place.
Co-op said the technology will improve in-store processes and remove the need for employees to switch between quick commerce apps or different devices. Customers will also benefit from faster delivery times.
Co-op claims that around 80 per cent of the UK population has access to Co-op groceries, either through its online shop or delivery partners including Just Eat and Deliveroo.
The company added that the new technology would support its growth ambitions of reaching a third of the quick commerce market.
