WHSmith to roll out InPost lockers at High Street stores

British High Street retailer WHSmith is rolling out InPost lockers across its stores throughout the UK.

The move comes as the UK company records sales ahead of pre-covid levels for the first time, largely driven by its travel shops which are located at airports.

The retailer has struggled with sales at its High Street stores, with revenue down 11 per cent compared to before the pandemic.

This will be the first time a retailer has introduced the lockers inside stores.

Customers at WHSmith stores in the UK will now be able to collect, send, or return parcels from in-store.

“At WHSmith, customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do, so we are excited to partner with InPost and introduce their parcel lockers into our High Street stores across the UK, providing a valuable and convenient service to our communities,” said Ian Sanders, group commercial development director, WHSmith. “InPost Lockers will help us offer our customers a convenient and accessible way to pick up, send and return their parcels as part of their daily routines when they come to our high street locations.

"We look forward to working with InPost to elevate our in-store proposition.”

The announcement follows InPost partnerships with Westfield, Tesco, and TfL.
