Vodafone and Dixons Carphone sign multi-year deal

Vodafone will become the exclusive mobile network partner for Dixons Carphone, which owns Currys PC World and Carphone Warehouse.

The exclusive, multi-year deal will see Vodafone mobile plans sold across Dixons Carphone’s 300 stores.

The move comes nearly a year after both EE and O2 withdrew from trading agreements with the electrical and telecoms retailer.

The new partnership will underpin Dixon Carphone’s new mobile offer, launching later in the year, alongside the business’s mobile virtual network iD Mobile.

“This is a very exciting new agreement for us, that ensures connectivity to our award-winning network is made available to even more people across the UK,” said Max Taylor, consumer director, Vodafone. “This is a completely new and exclusive arrangement, which will drive customer experience improvements and value growth for both parties.”

Taylor added: “The partnership gives us the opportunity to work more closely together than ever before, focusing on creating more innovative mobile solutions for customers.”

Ed Connolly, chief commercial officer, Dixons Carphone, said: “We’re delighted to develop our long-term partnership with Vodafone which will see them become our exclusive MNO partner ahead of our new mobile offer launching later this year."

Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
