Superdrug owner appoints new supply chain director

AS Watson, owner of Superdrug, Savers and The Perfume Shop, has appointed Mark Peaker as supply chain director for Superdrug and Savers.

Peaker joined Superdrug six years ago as head of commercial finance. In that role, he led commercial finance teams and supported major operational and supply chain projects across the business.

This included overseeing the shift of website fulfilment from distribution centres into stores and introducing a quicker fulfilment model that enabled the health and beauty retailer to respond more quickly to customer demand.

Before joining Superdrug, Peaker was head of finance transformation at the John Lewis Partnership, working on projects focused on operational efficiency, productivity and technology infrastructure.

In his new role, Peaker will oversee supply chain operations across both Superdrug and Savers, with a focus on strengthening the network to support demand online and in stores.

Superdrug chief executive and director of AS Watson Health & Beauty UK, Peter Macnab, said that supply chain is a key part of the business, underpinning everything from store availability to the company’s ability to support continued growth.

“Mark has already made a significant contribution since joining Superdrug, bringing a strong strategic mindset and analytical rigour to a number of important operational projects,” he added. “Mark’s combination of commercial expertise and operational insight makes him exceptionally well placed to lead this function as we continue to strengthen and develop our supply chain operations across both Superdrug and Savers.”
