Sports Direct partners with InPost

Sports Direct has announced a new deal with automated parcel machine provider InPost.

InPost currently has 5,000 parcel lockers across the UK located at shopping centres, train stations, supermarkets, petrol forecourts, and on High Streets, with the majority available 24/7.

The company said that Sports Direct customers can now scan a QR code received to their phone at their nearest locker to return items rather than using print at home labels.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our consumer journey and to create a seamless beginning to end product lifecycle,” said a spokesperson for Sports Direct. “Our partnership with InPost will help generate a smooth process for our consumers when returning online purchases by using QR code technology.”

Michael Rouse, chief executive of InPost International said that consumer expectations have changed dramatically over the past few years.

"Today, they expect — and even demand — convenience at every touchpoint," he added. "As such, for retailers, returns are becoming a huge part of the customer experience."

Morrisons also recently announced it was rolling out around 100 new InPost parcel lockers across its stores.

The move means that 80 per cent of Morrisons supermarkets now have lockers.
