Space NK promotes digital director to CEO

Space NK has promoted its group digital director Andy Lightfoot to chief executive.

He joined the beauty retailer in October 2016, leading the development of online operations, and will now report to Chris Garek, who vacated the chief executive position to assume the role of executive chairman.

A divisional board has been created, with Margaret Mitchell becoming chief merchandising officer, Emma Simpson-Scott moving into the chief marketing officer role, and Noah Rosenblatt assuming the position of North America president.

Garek commented: “Andy's drive and determination coupled with his leadership skills in his new role of CEO will enable Space NK UK and US to demonstrate itself as a leading omnichannel and customer-centric retailer.”

Space NK launched as a single store in Covent Garden in 1993, growing to 69 stores across the UK and Ireland, as well as 41 locations in the US. Its North American presence includes boutiques at department store chains Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom.

Poundland significantly reduces antisocial behaviour, aggression and shoplifting with Motorola Solutions VT100 body cameras
Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
