Sixt launches omnichannel payment platform

Car rental company Sixt has restructured its customer payment processes, switching to Computop as its central service provider for customer payments.

Payments from online shops, PoS terminals in branches and telephone bookings will in now be run via a single platform.

With the conversion to uniform, NFC-capable card terminals in Europe and the USA, Sixt will be able to process all card payments in line with the latest standards. Sixt will also now be able to select and combine its acquirer and payment service connections even more individually and cost-consciously.

Fabian Mansfeld, senior director for damage management and payments at Sixt, said they can now centrally control various payment channels and enable cross-channel transactions. “The use of standard P2PE card terminals in the Sixt corporate countries simplifies our system landscape and also offers our customers maximum security.”
