Primark has opened the doors to its first standalone home store in Britain at Manchester’s Trafford Palazzo.
The new store is 12,000 sq ft set over two floors.
There is also a mezzanine floor with Primark’s travel offering that includes items such as luggage, packing cubes, and travel accessories.
The opening comes as the retailer also announces that its flagship Manchester Market Street store is to "unveil a fresh new look" next month after a revamp.
It will include a new performance wear area, a makeover of its RAWR beauty studio and a pre-loved section.
The move follows the opening of the standalone Primark home concept in Belfast earlier this year.
“The buzz and excitement around this new opening has been incredible and finally getting to welcome our first customers through the door this morning was a real moment to remember," said Ceara Doyle, store manager, Primark Trafford Palazzo. "That amazing moment was only possible because of our brilliant team who have been working behind the scenes to bring the store to life – from fitting out the space, right down to the final cushion fluffs this morning."
Earlier this month, the clothing and homewares retailer launched a mobile app in Italy and Ireland which will allow customers to browse products and check stock availability in stores.
Customers can explore Primark’s latest trends, save curated favourites, and use a built-in store locator to plan their visits.
Users can also opt-in for personalised notifications to stay up to date on the latest arrivals, collection launches and exclusive updates.
At the time, the retailer said that it had launched the app in two very different markets to test and learn how customers interact with the app in different retail environments.
