Lucky Cycle launches in UK

Belgium-based startup Lucky Cycle has launched on these shores. The likes of Clinique, Royal Canin, Latestinbeauty.co.uk, Vente-Exclusive and Media Markt are currently using its offering, which gives customers the opportunity to win their basket for free.

Founded in 2013 by Geraud de Borchgrave, Nicolas Coppee and Jean-Marc Goemaere, the company is expanding after securing a €1 million cash injection from private investors. “We are aiming to shake up the world of retail promotions by offering something new and exciting to consumers when they shop online,” says Simon Calvert, UK country manager at Lucky Cycle. “The ‘win your basket’ concept taps into the appealing aspect of chance. We’re not trying to replace voucher codes, but we are interested in changing the culture around incentives – retailers don’t have to offer a discount to run a promotion. Lucky Cycle is a simple yet innovative method of encouraging people to visit a site and make a purchase.”

Lucky Cycle’s technology is white-labelled and fully integrated into retailers’ web and mobile sites. Campaigns can also be promoted in stores, where a customer uses a unique receipt number to play online. The company partners with Deloitte for compliance auditing of campaigns. It says that its clients are seeing an average 30 per cent increase in conversion rates and sales respectively, while 60 per cent of winners are sharing news of their good luck on social media.
