Gumtree partners with Evri on first-ever UK integrated delivery service

Online marketplace Gumtree has partnered with delivery company Evri to launch its first-ever integrated delivery service for UK customers.

Through the multi-year contract, Gumtree said it will transition into a fully transactional marketplace.

Deliveries will begin with selected product categories, including fashion and baby, with others added during a wider launch planned for 2026.

The online marketplace currently has around 10 million monthly visitors and nearly two million active listings in the UK.

Gumtree quoted statistics from research company ResearchAndMarkets.com, which found that the recommerce market is expected to grow at 10.2 per cent annually by 2029.

Gumtree said the new partnership with Evri will capitalise on this increasing demand for pre-loved goods.

"This partnership with Evri is another step forward in bringing to life our vision to become the go-to marketplace for the home,” said Kim Faura, joint managing director at Gumtree. “Their vast network and reputation in logistics is crucial in making this happen safely and securely as we work towards a full rollout in 2026 - and will make it easier than ever for our customers to buy and sell pre-loved goods in the UK.”

Last week, the company announced a partnership with Mangopay as part of its transformation into a classifieds site into a fully transactional customer-to-customer (C2C) marketplace.

Gumtree said it will start rolling out wallet-first payments, called Gumpayment, in selected categories ahead of a wider launch in 2026.

The company added that the move would offer customers a safer, more convenient experience to both buyers and sellers.

In July, Evri announced plans to double its network of ParcelShops and lockers to 25,000 locations by 2030.

To enable this growth, Evri said it will invest over £50 million to launch an owned, in-house network of smart lockers.

Evri said it will roll out 10,000 lockers as part of its network expansion to support its continued growth with UK retailers and marketplaces.
