Covent Garden plans digital distancing initiatives

Retailers around Covent Garden will be trialling a range of digital initiatives to ensure social distancing when they reopen next week.

Charlotte Tilbury will be offering its customers a make-up masterclass via Zoom, as well as a Click and Collect option, while Tiffany & Co will be hosting virtual product styling sessions, and Mulberry will be offering customers virtual store appointments.

The busy central London shopping destinations has been closed since lockdown was imposed on 23 March.

The entire estate will now have social distancing signage, hand sanitiser posts throughout and one-way systems implemented in high-congestion areas.

Poundland significantly reduces antisocial behaviour, aggression and shoplifting with Motorola Solutions VT100 body cameras
Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
