Chemist Warehouse updates supply chain tech

Chemist Warehouse Retail Group, one of Australia’s largest retailers, has signed a deal with supply chain software firm Manhattan to enable new processes and improve service levels across its omnichannel pharmacy operations.

The group, which operates more than 400 retail stores across the country, will gain a picture of product inventory across the distribution network and a more streamlined online order fulfilment process through the deal.

Joanne Lipsey, general manager of supply chain at Chemist Warehouse Retail Group, said: “Prior to the Manhattan solution implementation, we had limited control over inventory however we can now track stock across the entire business and know exactly where a given unit of inventory is at any moment.”

“With the Manhattan solution, we have accelerated the flow of goods through our distribution network and this is driving improved service levels and closer customer relationships. The Manhattan technology has already boosted our top line growth and margin enhancement and we’re confident it will help drive the next phase of business performance improvement.”

Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
