Build-A-Bear to launch 3D online shopping experience

Build-A-Bear has partnered with Buzz 3D to launch a new interactive digital shopping experience.

The move is part of the retailer’s digital transformation plans, which include maximising online engagement.

Bear Builder 3D Workshop is an immersive 3D animated environment where consumers can experience the stages of a Build-A-Bear in-store shopping process, including stuffing the bear and adding a sound or song.

Digital animated steps such as shopping in the Cub Condo neighbourhood, a trip down the Rainbow Slide, and a visit to the Wonder Wardrobe have also been added to the process.

The new digital shopping experience is available to Bonus Club members in the US and will be rolled out to UK members in the future.

"Even before the pandemic, the retail landscape was shifting, as consumers increasingly moved to online shopping for their needs,” said Sharon Price John, president and chief executive, Build-A-Bear Workshop. “Our aim is to meet our guests where they prefer to shop and engage with us, so we have worked with Buzz 3D to develop an interactive, digital shopping experience that gives customers the Build-A-Bear experience we are known for in store, online.

"By partnering with Buzz 3D, we have been able to move away from highly transactional ecommerce and bring our fun, creative brand to the digital world.’’

Poundland significantly reduces antisocial behaviour, aggression and shoplifting with Motorola Solutions VT100 body cameras
Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
