Asos expands board

Natasja Laheij and Jose Manuel Martinéz Gutiérrez have joined the board of Asos as independent non-executive directors.

Laheij currently works as senior finance director for Google EMEA and is chair of the board of Google Payments. She has previously held roles at Apple and Deloitte and was chief financial officer at Amazon Fashion Europe.

Martinéz Gutiérrez has worked as chief executive at Spanish fashion company Bimba y Lola since 2018. He has also held roles at McKinsey, Inditex and Esprit.

Leheij will join the board on 11April and serve as chair of the audit committee and as a member of the remuneration committee. Martinéz Gutiérrez will also join the board on 11 April and will serve on the audit committee.

Patrick Kennedy will step down form the board on April to focus on other business activities. Mai Fyfield, who joined the board in November 2019, will take over his role as senior independent director of the company.

Commenting on the news Jørgen Lindemann, Asos chairman, said: “Natasja brings a wealth of highly relevant commercial and financial experience gained across several leading tech and growth businesses, including as CFO of Amazon Fashion Europe. Jose Manuel joins with extensive fashion and supply chain expertise. The Board will greatly benefit from Natasja and Jose's insight and oversight, and we look forward to working closely with them."
