Asda launches charity TikTok shop

Asda has launched its first ever TikTok shop for charity with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of breast checking during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The supermarket said it will be selling discounted bundles of nine branded pink products for £7.17, which the retailer said represents the one in seven women across the UK who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

All proceeds from the sales of the exclusive TikTok Shop bundle will go straight to Asda’s Tickled Pink charity partners, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.

200 products, which have switched to bright pink to mark the event, will be included in the scheme.

Products include general merchandise and popular items including breakfast cereal, drinks, sweets and meals.

Working with its suppliers, Asda said 15 per cent of its Tickled Pink product range carrys a breast check message on the packaging.

The supermarket has conducted the charity campaign for almost 30 years, raising some £100 million for breast cancer charities since 1996.

Asda said that products carrying the pink branding will donate a minimum of 10 per cent of the purchase price to the charities.

“It’s set to be one of our biggest ever years with over 200 products available both in stores and online, giving customers the opportunity to donate by purchasing everyday household products and clothing items,” said Emma Betts, Asda’s national charity partnerships manager. “This is an exciting year as we launch a first ever charity TikTok shop for Tickled Pink but also, it’s a celebration of raising over £100 million over the last 29 years.”
