Uber Direct has integrated with Deliverect in Ireland, marking a significant expansion for both companies in the Irish market.
Deliverect, a platform that connects delivery apps with point-of-sale (POS) systems to streamline restaurant and retailer operations, announced that the move builds on its longstanding partnership with Uber in the UK, which began in 2018. The Irish expansion will allow restaurants and retailers to offer on-demand delivery directly from the Deliverect platform, leveraging Uber’s extensive courier network.
Through this integration, Irish businesses can now manage direct orders and deliveries in one place, providing fast, reliable delivery services while maintaining customer relationships and expanding their delivery reach. The integration is expected to benefit both independent venues and established chains, supporting efforts to meet growing consumer demand for seamless, on-demand delivery.
Leanne Purcell, general manager of Uber Eats Ireland, commented: “We’re delighted to be expanding Uber Direct's partnership with Deliverect and bringing our work together to Ireland, so that even more businesses across the country can get their products directly into the hands of their customers seamlessly.”
Deliverect, in a recent LinkedIn post, noted: “How people shop and buy food has changed,” reflecting broader industry shifts towards digital ordering and delivery solutions.
The collaboration between Deliverect and Uber initially began with Uber Eats in 2018. In September 2023, the partnership expanded to include Uber Direct in the UK, allowing restaurants and retailers to use Deliverect Dispatch—a logistics solution that enables businesses to manage deliveries using Uber’s courier network without relying on third-party marketplaces.
Jordi Suarez, global head of Uber Direct, previously stated that the partnership would enable merchants to offer delivery services “in a way that works for them and scales with their growth.” He added, “On-demand delivery is no longer a luxury—today, it’s a basic consumer expectation.”
This expansion into Ireland comes as demand for integrated, flexible delivery solutions continues to rise in the hospitality and retail sectors. Industry analysts suggest that such integrations help businesses remain competitive and responsive to evolving consumer habits.
