Shop Direct adopts cloud-based risk management

Shop Direct Group has introduced a new centrally-managed and automated third party assurance programme from SureCloud to determine the relative risk profiles of its extensive supplier network. The British innovator uses a cloud-based approach to risk management to ensure the leading online and home shopping retailer’s data is sufficiently protected throughout the supply chain in order to minimise security risks.

SureCloud’s GRC platform enables Shop Direct’s compliance team to lift its existing spreadsheet questionnaire-based auditing programme into the cloud thereby transforming a series of manual, resource-heavy and lengthy administration tasks into a more streamlined, efficient process that gives auditors an at-a-glance insight into relative security risk posed by each supplier.

The move is expected to help Shop Direct more readily identify those organisations among its 800-strong supplier network that require greatest focus as well as lead to clearer insight into the overall efficacy of its supply chain’s security compliance measures.

“When we saw how quickly and easily the SureCloud SaaS (software-as-a-service) platform could transform our supplier assurance programme, we knew that it was exactly what we needed,” comments Mike Marshall, head of group security at Shop Direct Group. “Greater efficiencies and significant time savings have already been achieved without changing our existing processes or breaking the bank.
