Retail tech support giant Vista acquires Irish firm SCT, expanding cross-border services

Vista Technology Support, backed by LDC, has announced its acquisition of a leading Irish retail technology support company, SCT.

This strategic move aims to bolster Vista's growth and enhance services for UK-based businesses with outlets in Ireland.

James Pepper, chief executive officer of Vista, stated, "The acquisition provides our business with a platform for further growth and enhances the services we provide UK-based businesses that have stores and restaurants in Ireland. It also gives SCT the investment and support to continue its growth and expansion of services in-country."

The combined entity will become the only independent retail IT services provider with significant in-country operations using its own employed staff. The expanded customer base now includes over 100 leading retail, hospitality, entertainment, and pharmacy businesses across more than 40,000 locations. Together, they support over 300,000 point-of-sale and self-service systems, along with various other in-store technologies.

Pepper added, "Our customers will enjoy a one company approach to IT services throughout the UK and Ireland."

This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Vista Technology Support, which has been supported by LDC since October 2017. The move is expected to streamline IT services for businesses operating in both the UK and Ireland, offering a more cohesive and efficient support system.

The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The company hopes that this merger will strengthen Vista's position in the retail technology support sector and potentially lead to further expansion in the future.
