Notonthehighstreet hires HelloFresh CEO

Notonthehighstreet has appointed HelloFresh UK boss Claire Davenport as its new chief executive.

Barrie Seidenberg, who has led the curated online marketplace since April 2018, was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year and will now be stepping down in order to focus on her health.

Darren Shapland, chairman of Notonthehighstreet, said: “Barrie has led the transformation of the company over the last 15 months and has significantly increased momentum in the business.

“Through Barrie’s leadership, the business now has a strong foundation for growth, supported by a skilled leadership team, with experienced additions including a new CTO, CFO and CPO.”

Davenport will assume the role of on 27 August and Seidenberg will remain with the business until the end of this month.

As well as leading recipe box company HelloFresh, she was general manager at VoucherCodes from 2014 to 2017 and chief commercial officer at German business Bigpoint from 2011 to 2013. She has also worked at Skype, Ofcom and Goldman Sachs in a career that dates back to 1994.

Notonthehighstreet stated that Davenport will build on the management team's plans to modernise its technology platform and strengthen the e-commerce foundations of the business.
