Loomis partners NatWest to launch smart safe trial for retailers

NatWest is joining forces with Loomis UK to offer retailers a facility to deposit cash takings in a connected smart safe without leaving their store.

The Same Day Credit pilot is aimed at UK retailers operating smaller stores and uses Loomis technology in the shape of a SafePoint connected smart safe.

The safes scan and sort notes at high-speed, crediting the value of the deposits to the retailer’s NatWest account the same day. It automatically alerts Loomis when it is time to be emptied, reducing the potential number of cash in transit visits.

The trial collaboration between Loomis and NatWest is an end-to-end solution covering installation and servicing, to transport and indemnity.

Craig Sherriff, director of customer experience at Loomis UK, said: “We believe Same Day Credit offers an exciting opportunity for them to capture the unbeatable flexibility, accessibility and popularity of cash and turn it into a valuable business tool in these tough times.”

Matt Tuck, head of customer propositions and delivery at NatWest, added: “We’re delighted to be working with Loomis to trial SafePoint with our UK business customers, allowing cash to be deposited securely and safely into their account without leaving their business premises, in turn improving cash flow and allowing them to spend more time running and growing their business.”
