La Sportiva opts for Kooomo e-commerce platform

Mountain clothing and shoes retailer La Sportiva has seen its monthly online sales go from nothing to €85,000 after re-platforming with digital commerce platform Kooomo.
The Italian manufacturer employs approximately 280 staff and has four stores in Italy and Spain, with distribution to more than 70 countries worldwide. It previously had a brand website with around 140,000 monthly sessions, but was looking to add e-commerce functionality.
Marketing director Luca Mich explained: “The challenge was to completely rebuild and quickly launch the new website without losing any traffic – our marketing team are not HTML specialists so it was very important that the content management system was simple and easy to use.
“We investigated a number of companies and spoke to lots of agencies but we decided upon the Kooomo SaaS cloud platform because it would get us to market fast – without the need to spend on IT infrastructure, as it is truly an out-of-the-box solution, we were able to dramatically reduce the launch costs.”
E-commerce manager Francesco Trenti added that migration took four weeks and both brand awareness and site visits grew quickly after implementation. “Compared to the same month last year, organic traffic has increased by over 500 per cent from Germany and 120 per cent from France – since going live, we have already shipped to approximately 50 countries from Sweden to Slovakia, Iceland and Australia.”
Kooomo integration partner PVS also helped to efficiently fulfil orders: “When we receive an order, it’s automatically forwarded to PVS to pick, pack and ship it for us,” said Trenti.
Meanwhile, app integration with Feedaty helps to manage customer feedback and enquiries.
Trenti concluded: “We plan to add to the online team and establish our footprint worldwide – our ambition is to communicate our unique brand identity through a great online experience.”
