Hived expands to 8 new cities in the UK

Hived is expanding its parcel delivery network to eight new locations in the UK.

With the move, the all-electric delivery firm is expanding its presence beyond London, bringing its delivery service to new cities including Bath, Bournemouth, Brighton, Bristol, Portsmouth, Poole, Southampton and Worthing.

In London, the delivery company has delivered over 6.5 million parcels in collaboration with commercial partners including Nespresso, Liberty of London, H&M, Gousto and John Lewis, claiming a record on-time delivery rate of over 99 per cent.

The service has been operating in the capital since 2021, with the firmaving since grown to a team of over 120 people.

The B Corp-certified company said that its delivery network has been fully operational at the new locations since early September, with the business providing services to customers in its existing portfolio.

The move comes as Hived’s data shows that e-commerce now accounts for nearly 10 per cent of the UK's GDP.The expansion follows the firm’s $42 million series B funding round led by Finnish investment firm NordicNinja in July, with the capital injection focused on accelerating its growth beyond London.

The funding round received participation from existing investors including Planet A, Wex Venture Capital, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, Elemental Impact, Yamato Holdings, Future Back Ventures by Bain and Co as well as Rocketship VC.
