US discount retailer Family Dollar is boosting on-demand delivery of its product offering, including everyday essential, convenience items and household goods, through a new partnership with DoorDash.
7,000 Family Dollar stores across the US are now available on the delivery platform.
To place an order with Family Dollar on DoorDash, customers can now open the DoorDash app, search for “Family Dollar”, select items, choose on-demand or scheduled delivery, and track it in real time.
Chris Hooks, president and chief commercial officer of Family Dollar, said the partnership aims to make shopping easier and more accessible for customers.
“Whether it’s everyday essentials or last-minute needs, we’re committed to delivering affordability and convenience in every way we can,” Hooks added.
The company added that the partnership comes just in time for the festive period, making it easier for shoppers to access a wide range of items.
Family Dollar will also be available on DashPass, DoorDash's subscription programme that offers £0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders from thousands of restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores nationwide.
Customers also have access to a 25 per cent discount on orders with a subtotal of £30 or more by using a promotional code until the end of 2025.
The US chain has also recently invested in its digital strategy through a new partnership with Dunnhumby.
The company has rolled out an AI platform for category management and merchandising to boost the in-store experience.
The new platform enables Family Dollar to enhance the assortment process across its stores, with the aim of enhancing the shopping experience for around 66 million customers and boosting sales.
