Evri appoints chief product officer for digital transformation

Evri has appointed a new chief product officer as the delivery company, formerly known as Hermes, continues to build out its customer experience and digital offering.

Joe Tarragano joins the company following a 25 year career in digital roles at organisations including eBay, Dun & Bradstreet and Thomson Reuters.

Tarragano has also provided consultancy to retailers including Argos, Sports Direct and Debenhams on eCommerce best practices and is the founder of two start-ups.

Most recently Joe led all the customer product activity at GSK, spanning 70 markets globally, as part of its digital transformation initiatives.

Evri said it has made the hire as it continues its investment in product development, customer experience and digital innovation.

In his new role Tarragano will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s technology initiatives continue to support the needs of its different stakeholders and continue to innovate premium services that are cost effective and environmentally responsible.

Martijn de Lange, chief executive of Evri, said: “The demand for on-line shopping is here to stay with recent research from YouGov finding that 45 per cent of people prefer to buy things online and more than two thirds saying that online shopping makes their life easier.

“We continue to experience strong growth and is absolutely vital that we have the best people in place to ensure we can continue to be able to meet the needs of ‘Evri’ customer. Joe’s appointment to our senior team will further support this.”
