Asda partners with InPost to install parcel lockers at 700 stores

Asda is rolling out InPost parcel lockers to around 700 stores as part of its efforts to expand the range of convenience services available to customers.

The agreement represents one of InPost's largest retail partnerships in the UK to date and will significantly expand access to its network of more than 16,000 parcel lockers nationwide.

The parcel lockers will be installed at a mix of superstores, supermarkets and Asda Express locations across the UK.

Asda said the move will allow customers to collect, send and return parcels while completing their grocery shopping.

The supermarket added installation of the lockers reflects the growing demand for out-of-home delivery options that offer more flexibility than traditional home delivery and is part of its ongoing strategy to give its customers a wider range of services beyond grocery shopping.

Joseph Sutton, director of Express, Fuel & Wholesale at Asda, said: “Our unmatched mix of services is a key part of what sets Asda apart, and we know customers increasingly value the convenience of being able to tick off multiple tasks in a single trip.

“This rollout gives customers a fast and flexible way to collect and return parcels, seamlessly fitting around their weekly shop and making everyday life a little easier.”

Paul Selvey, network director at InPost UK, said that partnerships with major retailers like Asda are part of the company’s efforts to make out-of-home delivery as easy and accessible as possible for consumers across the country.

“Asda's scale and nationwide footprint give us a significant opportunity to bring
InPost Lockers closer to millions more people,” he added. “Partnerships like this are helping change the way people think about parcel delivery and making lockers an increasingly established part of the UK delivery landscape.”

Earlier this week, Asda opened its latest standalone store for fashion brand George in Rotherham, completing its 10 planned relaunches this year.

The store will offer expanded George fashion ranges across menswear, womenswear and childrenswear alongside a broader George Home selection.

The new store is the final of 10 standalone stores due to be rolled out this year, following those in locations including Peterborough, Barnsley and Lincoln.
