Online fashion retailer Boohoo has appointed Alistair McGeorge to the management board as independent non-executive director.
McGeorge is currently the non-executive chairman of East Imperial plc and The Original Factory shop. He was also previously a director at fashion retailer New Look.
He replaces Brian Small as the group’s deputy chairman and will act as interim chair of the audit committee until the company finds someone to fill the role on a permanent basis.
McGeorge is also a member of the Remuneration, Nomination, Risk and ESG committees. Boohoo said that he holds no shares in the company.
Boohoo also announced that executive director Neil Catto is leaving the company after almost 12 years. During this time, he worked as chief financial officer.
Commenting on the news Mahmud Kamani, group executive chairman, said: "Alistair has extensive board-level experience with some great retail brands. We look forward to working with him and are confident that he will help us deliver our ambition to be the global fashion leader.”
Earlier this year, Boohoo reported that revenue had fallen by 11 per cent in the UK to £637.7 million in the three months to 31 December 2022. The company blamed extended international delivery times.
