Aldi rolls out loyalty scheme across 440 Belgian stores

Aldi Belgium is rolling out a loyalty programme across all 440 stores in the country.

The scheme will offer discounted prices, the opportunity to earn points, and weekly promotions.

The loyalty programme will be integrated into the existing Aldi app, which the discounter said will make the process as simple as possible for customers.

In order to earn points, users need to create a profile on the Aldi app and scan the QR code.

Points are added automatically after users pay for their shopping.

Customers taking part in the scheme will automatically receive digital receipts through the app after purchase, which Aldi said will make shopping easier.

Additionally, users can earn additional bonus points by completing challenge, such as reaching a certain number of points or store visits, or by purchasing specific products which are advertised in the app.

Aldi said shoppers can redeem accumulated points for general discount vouchers or free products.

The roll out of the loyalty programme follows an extensive testing period in 70 stores in West Flanders and Hainaut.

The roll out will start at the end of July, with Aldi estimating it will install the technology needed to collect points at the rate of around 70 stores per week.
Customers will be able to see on the Aldi website in which stores they can collect points.

By the end of the summer, it said the loyalty programme will be available in all Belgian stores.
