Holland & Barrett has announced plans to open 50 new stores in 2025.
The health and wellness retailer also revealed that next year it will launch around 1,000 new items across its own brand ranges.
Over the past financial year, the company has refurbished 315 stores and opened 35 new stores including 15 concessions.
The concessions are part of the retailer’s efforts to trial new format stores, including travel locations, garden centres, and a kiosk in Dublin which sells a selected range of 1,000 products.
Holland & Barrett has also partnered with clothing retailer Next and plans to open concessions in three next stores next summer.
In addition to overhaling existing stores, Holland and Barret said it has also upgraded its technology, with new solutions for customers including Cerebro which is an app for employees to give them the knowledge and resources to interact with customers and provide product information to facilitate deeper conversations about wellness.
In August, Holland & Barrett rolled out a trial of rapid DNA testing.Launched in partnership with DnaNudge, the cheek swab DNA test offers genetic insights which Holland & Barrett said could lead to improved sleep and healthier skin.
“We aim to have easily accessible retail stores where customers want and need them, which is why we are investing heavily in our high street presence and our end-to-end customer experience,” said Anthony Houghton, chief executive at Holland & Barrett UK&I. “Refitting hundreds of stores and opening 35 brand new ones in a 365-day period is no mean feat, and that’s down to the expertise and amazing dedication of our colleagues across our business.”
