eBay to open London pop-up store

eBay is opening a pop-up shop just off Oxford Street in London, which will allow customers to shop using their mobile.

Blurring the retail shopping channels, the e-tailer will unveil a pop-up shop described as the UK’s first “QR code shopping emporium”

Set to open between on 1 December, the store in London’s West End will allow shoppers to scan QR codes with their smartphones to purchase Christmas gifts and other items.

The store could set a precedent for other online businesses to follow and may lead to a more mainstream roll-out of these services next year.
