NFC and mobile outdoor advertising

The first outdoor advertising campaign in the UK to incorporate Nearfield Communication (NFC) and mobile was launched by Clear Channel. As part of the LD6 platform roadside digital advertising network, 100 72-inch HD screens will be installed across London.

Clear Channel says the network allows brands to integrate social media and mobile through built-in NFC technology, using real-time news, weather and travel updates.
The first site launches on 13 October was in London’s Cambridge Circus, with the full roll out planned for 28 November in Oxford Circus and Shoreditch High Street, Kings Cross station and areas of Islington and Westminster.

Clear Channel CEO Matthew Dearden said, “Our advertisers and their brands will be able to engage consumers by maximising time and context on this growing network to deliver powerful, flexible and interactive campaigns in London’s best locations.”
