Morrison's opens up local stores

The UK’s fourth largest retailer, Morrison’s, has launched first of three trial convenience stores in Ilkley. M Local will offer a range of fresh food, relying on deliveries from the Morrison’s Keighley store nearby to meet stock demands.

Cheshire and Widnes will be next on the M Local hit list, at which point Morrisons will assess and tweak its convenience store offer before rolling out the scheme across the UK.

“With our store at Ilkley we set ourselves the challenge of creating a convenience store that also offers great fresh food,” said area manager Miles Foster. “We believe this store will serve families cooking from scratch, as well as people who want a meal that they can make in a hurry.”

The Ilkley store will operate 6am to 11pm opening hours and has created 15 full and part time jobs.
