Dixons Travel opens Heathrow digital concept store

Written by Anthony Strzalek

Dixons Travel has unveiled a new digital concept store within the departure lounge at London’s Heathrow airport.

The new concept store, located in the airport’s Terminal Three lounge, includes dedicated space to demonstrate the latest technologies live on the shop floor.

Passengers can also try out the latest technology whilst keeping an eye on their flights through departure screens, and 50 plus metres of digital signage line the entire internal store perimeter, highlighting tailored offers and explaining the latest tech benefits to improve the shopping experience.

There is also a welcoming area where customers can sit and charge mobile phones whilst they await their flights.

Dixons Travel also offers passengers the option of added convenience, to pick and reserve products online before arriving at London’s Heathrow, to ensure they are in stock to swiftly collect and pay for them as they travel through the airport.

Heidi Woodhouse, Dixons travel managing director, commented: “We are really excited to be opening this new look store and providing a unique shopping experience designed especially with passengers in mind.”

Ben Crowley, head of retail technology for Heathrow, added: “As part of a wider plan to revitalise the Terminal 3 experience we have worked with Dixons to create a world leading technology store which will surprise and delight our passengers. Every aspect has been meticulous designed, bringing together cutting-edge design and technology under one roof.”

The new concept store is open from 5:30am-10pm, seven days a week.
