Debenhams has launched virtual stores at famous lanmarks like Trafalgar Square using augmented-reality, location-based iPhone and iPad apps. The pop-up stores will virtually stock party dresses, which visitors can then virtually try on using the iPhone and iPad2 app.
They can even order items at specified locations, which are then delivered to their address.
Simon Forster, debenhams.com director, said, “It brings the hassle-free element of online, with the experience of shopping in-store combined with the fantastic backdrops of iconic UK locations.”
