Latest Blackberry phones boast NFC

Research In Motion’s latest BlackBerry handsets are the first BlackBerry smartphones to include built-in support for NFC. The Canadian company this week announced plans to launch the Bold 9900 and 9930 and three other handsets based on the BlackBerry 7 Operating System.

The new phones are part of the company’s attempts to pull back North American market share losses from Apple and Google. “This is the largest global launch of BlackBerry smartphones in our history,” says Mike Lazaridis, president and Co-CEO at Research In Motion.

"The BlackBerry solution offers a best-in-class mobile communications experience that customers love and we think they will be thrilled by the faster performance, enhanced browsing and richer multi-media delivered by these powerful new Bold and Torch smartphones.”
